If you wish to request an earlier arrival, we invite you to reach out to us. We will always do our best to accommodate, depending on availability following our current guest’s departure.

Check-Out Time

When it’s time to bid farewell, please make sure to check-out by 10:00 AM so we can get everything ready for the next guest!

As part of our commitment to eco-luxury standards, we take the necessary time to carefully inspect, refresh, and prepare the space after each stay. For this reason, early check-in or late check-out cannot be guaranteed and may be subject to additional fees.

How To Operate The Gate

Upon arrival at the property, you will be welcomed by our private gate entry. Please enter the access code provided to you a few hours prior to your arrival using the discreet keypad located on the left-hand side of the gate. For your convenience, the keypad softly illuminates at night with the touch of any button.

Once the gate is unlocked, gently release the peg and lift the latch on the main gate to open both panels, allowing comfortable vehicle access.

Kindly note that parking is not permitted along Red Vial Cantonal Road 100. After entering, please ensure that both the pedestrian gate and main gate are securely closed and latched behind you. This helps preserve the privacy, safety, and natural harmony of the property – for you, fellow guests, our team, and the surrounding wildlife.

Your Designated Parking Spot

After entering through the property gate and continuing along the main driveway toward your assigned residence, you’ll find the Pond House parking area at the first pull-off. Look for the duck emblem sign located to the right of the carport.

Meet Your Host

At White Noise, hosting is personal.

We are a small, family owned and locally connected team dedicated to creating a stay that feels both seamless and meaningful. From the moment you book to the day you depart, our goal is to ensure you feel supported, welcomed, and fully at ease.

Many of the individuals who help care for the property and guest experience have been part of this space for years — some for over a decade. Their knowledge of the land, the community, and the surrounding area is an essential part of what makes White Noise so special.

We are also deeply committed to the local community, supporting small businesses, collaborating with local partners, and contributing in ways that help preserve and uplift the area we’re fortunate to be part of.

If there’s anything you need during your stay — recommendations, assistance, or simply a question — we are always here to help.

Our Story

White Noise is our family owned and operated passion project and forever home — created by founders Jenn and Danny George out of a deep love for Costa Rica’s wild beauty. What began as a private sanctuary has grown into a secluded, adults-only wellness retreat where couples and travelers from around the world come to escape, reconnect, and immerse themselves in nature.

Each home was built with a deep respect for the land and a desire to create spaces that feel both private and personal. We’re delighted to share these treasured homes with guests seeking to experience the Costa Rican lifestyle we’ve come to love. At White Noise, you’ll find nature-immersive healing experiences wrapped in a touch of understated luxury. Our homes blend refined comfort with the sights and sounds of the jungle, inviting you to recharge and discover your own little slice of heaven in Costa Rica.

What started as a small idea — a vision to create something meaningful where nature, comfort, and connection could coexist — has grown into a living, breathing experience shaped by the land, the river, and every guest who joins us along the way.

From our family to you, thank you for choosing to stay with us. As we continue to grow, we remain endlessly grateful for the guests who have believed in this journey — those who’ve shared their stories, supported our vision, and helped White Noise become what it is today: a nature retreat built on sincerity, integrity, and heart.

Your Stay at White Noise

White Noise is designed as a space to slow down, reconnect, and fully immerse yourself in the natural environment.

Here, the soundtrack is not created — it’s lived. The sounds of the jungle, from birdsong to rustling leaves, replace the noise of daily city life and invite a deeper sense of rest.

Each detail of your stay has been thoughtfully considered to balance comfort with simplicity, allowing nature to take the lead while still providing everything you need for a relaxing and memorable experience.

Pond House Private Spaces

THE BACK PATIO

Your private deck is designed for pure relaxation and connection with nature. You’ll find:

  • A refreshing dip pool perfect for cooling off
  • A catamaran-style hammock that lets you float over the treetops
  • A heated outdoor rain shower
  • A small fire pit
  • A cozy seating area

Host Tip: In the evening, light a small fire and enjoy it from bed — it’s pure magic. We recommend turning off the fan to help keep smoke to a minimum.

Host Suggestion: When the weather is cooler, try turning off the white noise machine, open the screened windows, and let the jungle sounds drift you to sleep.

Safety Tip: Please use only 3–4 small pieces of wood at a time to keep the fire size safe, and only use the provided fire starter paste over the fire pit.

POND FRONT FIRE PIT

The Pond House, you’ll find a large seating area tucked right next to the duck pond — the perfect place to relax and soak up the beauty of the jungle. This is one of our favorite spots to toast marshmallows for s’mores, pop a little champagne, and listen to the evening sounds of wildlife by the fire.

Host Tip: We’ve left some duck treats in the house for you. Our ducks are usually fed around 7 a.m., so we suggest offering the treats either before this time or later in the day. We like to toss a little bit to get their attention, wait for them to swim over, and then scatter the rest — they’ll love you for it!

A Few Friendly Reminders:

  • Please keep fire sizes small and add wood only as needed. Never leave a fire unattended or walk away and let it burn out on its own.
  • Our robes are wonderfully soft, but the jungle can be tough on fabrics. Please don’t wear them outside or sit on outdoor furniture while wearing them — this helps keep them fresh for everyone.

Property Guide

Exploring the Property’s Hiking Trails

Our main hiking trail starts at the very bottom of the main entrance driveway. Follow the road down to the river, cross the bridge, and you’ll find yourself on the main trail.

The hike to the top of the mountain takes about 15 to 20 minutes and rewards you with beautiful views, a trampoline, and a fire pit at the summit. Sometimes, squirrel monkeys can be spotte along the trail around 4pm—keep your eyes peeled for these playful visitors! During the dry season, we also maintain tw additional trails for those looking to explore even more. If you’re interested in these extra paths, please ask your host for details and current trail conditions.

Host Tip: Bring water for your hike—refillable water bottles are provided in the kitchen cabinets. We recommend starting your hike around 4pm, as the sun sets between 5:15pm and 5:45pm year-round. This timing gives you the best chance to spot wildlife and enjoy the sunset from the top.

For Your Safety:

  • Do not hike at night without a flashlight.
  • Always keep a lookout for wildlife along the trail.

SUNSET FIRE PITS

The top of the mountain is perfect for sunset views, offering 360 degrees of uninterrupted vistas over the jungle and out to the ocean—including Manuel Antonio and Parrita’s beaches. It’s a breathtaking spot to watch the sky change colors as the day ends.

Host Tip: Begin your hike around 4pm for the best chance to spot wildlife and to catch the sunset from the summit. Squirrel monkeys are often seen along the trail at this time!

Host Pick:

Pack a backpack with some firewood, a lighter, and a starter pack, and enjoy a cozy fire in the fire pit at the top of the mountain as the sun sets.

Safety Reminder:

  • Never leave fires unattended, and always ensure they are fully extinguished before leaving—especially at the top of
    the mountain.
  • Please don’t hike at night without a flashlight, and stay alert for wildlife along the trails.

MAIN RIVER ENTRY

The main river entry is found at the bottom of the entrance driveway, offering a refreshing spot for all guests to enjoy. This area is clothing optional, so you can relax and connect with nature in the way that feels best for you.

Host Pick: Check both sides of the bridge for a sandy spot—the river is always shifting, but there’s usually a sandy entry point that makes getting in and out of the water easy and comfortable.

Reminder: Please leave the water immediately if it starts raining or if the water speed increases for your safety.

Rule: If you choose the clothing optional experience, please be discreet and respectful so that all guests feel comfortable sharing this beautiful space.

Enjoy the ever-changing river and the freedom to unwind White Noise.

What to Expect

Staying at White Noise is intentionally different from a traditional hotel experience.

You are immersed in nature — which means:

  • You will hear the jungle (this is the magic)
  • You’ll see wildlife nearby
  • The environment is open, alive, and ever-changing

This is not a controlled or artificial setting, but rather an authentic experience of Costa Rica’s natural beauty.

We find that guests who embrace this fully have the most meaningful and memorable stays.

Staying Connected (or Not)

While we do offer Wi-Fi, White Noise is an opportunity to disconnect from the fast pace of everyday life and reconnect with yourself, nature, and those around you.

Whether you choose to stay connected or fully unplug, the space is designed to support both — giving you the flexibility to create the experience you need.

Need Anything?

We are here to ensure your stay is effortless and enjoyable from start to finish.

If you have any questions before or during your stay — whether it’s about the property, local recommendations, or special experiences — please don’t hesitate to reach out.

We’re always happy to help make your time at White Noise as seamless and memorable as possible.

Elevate Your Eco Retreat

Explore The Area

While White Noise offers a peaceful and private escape from the city, some of Costa Rica’s most iconic destinations are just a short drive away.

Perfectly located between nature and convenience, you’ll have access to adventure, wildlife, beaches, and vibrant local culture — all within reach.

Manuel Antonio National Park

Located just 20 minutes away, Manuel Antonio National Park is one of Costa Rica’s most popular and bio-diverse parks, known for its lush rainforest trails, white-sand beaches, and abundant wildlife.

Guests can explore scenic hiking paths, spot monkeys, sloths, and tropical birds, and enjoy some of the most beautiful coastal views in the country.

Curved sandy beach bordered by dense green rainforest and turquoise ocean with boats
Manuel Antonio National Park – A stunning tropical beach nestled between vibrant rainforest and turquoise waters
Beaches & Ocean Experiences

From calm, swimmable waters to scenic coastal views, the nearby beaches of Manuel Antonio and Quepos offer something for everyone.

Spend your day relaxing on the sand, exploring hidden coves, or enjoying ocean-based activities such as catamaran tours, fishing, or sunset sails.

Manuel Antonio Beaches

ESPADILLA BEACH – Directly adjoining Manuel Antonio National Park’s main beach, this hidden cove offers the same stunning scenery with a lively mix of activities, local vendors, and fresh food right on the sand.

PLAYA BIESANZ – Just north of here you’ll find a beautiful little beach tucked into a calm cove. The waters are gentler than many nearby spots, and although it requires a short hike down, it’s worth the effort. Once you arrive you’ll find lounge chairs available and a few vendor services.

Host tip: This beach is best enjoyed at low tide — during high tide the experience isn’t as pleasant — so we recommend checking the tide report before you go.

PLAYA PLAYITAS – At the very end of Manuel Antonio’s cove lies a hidden local beach that can only be reached with a 4-wheel-drive vehicle. This stretch of sand is completely free of vendors and has a laid-back, local vibe — people simply park right on the beach and head in for a swim.

Insider tip: At the far north end of the beach, when the tide is low, stunning rock formations emerge and create little tide pools that are perfect for strolling around and exploring.

Parrita Beaches

PLAYA PALO SECO – Located in the Parrita canton, this incredible virgin beach is
tucked away among Parrita’s natural wonders. Its sand shifts from slightly darker at
the edges to lighter in the center, and it’s surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. Most
days you’ll find this long, beautiful stretch almost empty — perfect for peaceful beach
walks, versus swimming due to its rougher tides.

Host tip: We love stopping at Bar y Restaurante Mar y Sol around 4 p.m. for a casual
bite or drink before heading out to stroll the beach at sunset.

Nauyaca Waterfall

About 1.5 hours from here, the stunning Nauyaca Waterfall Nature Park is worth the journey. Nestled in lush rainforest, this private park features well-kept trails, dense canopy, and cascading waterfalls with pristine natural pools—perfect for a refreshing dip.

Key Details & Tips:

  • Opening Hours: Park and ticket office operate daily from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, weather permitting.
  • Ticket Sales: Available until 2:30 PM—after that, no more entry is allowed.

Host Tip: Arrive early, explore and cool off in the waterfalls before heading to our absolute favorite beach, Playa Perfecto, especially magical during low tide.

Dinner Suggestion: Afterwards, dine oceanside at La Parcela, located on the Cove by Dominical—great views from any seat, and you might even spot the white-faced monkeys visiting in the evening. Reservations are recommended, especially during the dry season.

Rainmaker Conservation Park

Just minutes from our retreat, Rainmaker Conservation Park is a lush rainforest reserve that many visitors miss. With hanging bridges, jungle trails, small waterfalls, and crystal-clear swimming holes, it’s the perfect balance of adventure and serenity. Unlike busy Manuel Antonio, Rainmaker often feels like your own private jungle—you may even find yourself swimming alone beneath a waterfall. The park is known for its conservation roots, abundant wildlife, and peaceful beauty.

Visitor Info: Open daily 7:30 AM–6:00 PM. Entry about $20. Trails are easy to moderate with some stairs and can be slippery in the rainy season. Bring sturdy shoes, water, bug spray, and a swimsuit.

Host Tip: Our favorite way to enjoy Rainmaker is to cool off in the waterfall pools after crossing the canopy bridges—a magical reset in nature.

Our Community – San Antonio de Damas

Our tiny mountain town consists of about 100 people is surrounded by jungle-covered slopes, rivers that whisper through the valley, and views that stretch all the way to the coast.

Life here is simple and deeply rooted in tradition. Families have lived on this land for generations, raising children who play on the soccer field by the church, and sending them to the small school that serves the community. Historically, it was the women of this area who grew food to help feed the nation during a time of need—a legacy of strength and resilience that still lives on today.

Discover the nature a skip away from your door step.

Night Markets

Quepos Night Market – Held every Friday night and Saturday morning in Quepos Night Market, this vibrant local market is a favorite for fresh, locally sourced goods. Browse vendors offering organic produce, farm-raised meats, fresh-caught fish, handmade cheeses, and seasonal fruits and vegetables.

We recommend visiting on Friday evening for the most lively atmosphere — a perfect way to experience the local community and enjoy the flavors of the region.

Quepos

Parrita

Parrita is a convenient place to grab groceries on your way from San José (SJO) to the retreat. While the selection is more extensive in Quepos, we recommend making a quick stop in Parrita to pick up essentials, as the property is tucked into the mountains and a bit removed from larger stores.

For urgent matters, we are available to assist you in person. We reside quietly at the Soulo Bath House grounds, allowing us to be nearby when truly needed.

When The Lights Go Out: In Harmony with Nature

As part of our natural, jungle immersed setting, occasional regional power outages may occur. For your comfort, emergency lights are provided in the Butterfly Bungalow, located in the cupboard in front of the barstools, in the case the lights are out after dark.

If an outage is limited to a nearby area, service is typically restored within approximately 15 to 30 minutes. When affecting our immediate or surrounding communities, outages may last for around 3 hours. In the case of more widespread interruptions requiring extensive repairs, restoration times may be longer.

Here, these moments are gently embraced as part of the local rhythm – much like the Pura Vida way of life. We invite you to slow down, unwind, and enjoy the stillness of the space, accompanied by the rich, ambient sounds of the jungle.
