Our Story
White Noise is our family owned and operated passion project and forever home — created by founders Jenn and Danny George out of a deep love for Costa Rica’s wild beauty. What began as a private sanctuary has grown into a secluded, adults-only wellness retreat where couples and travelers from around the world come to escape, reconnect, and immerse themselves in nature.
Each home was built with a deep respect for the land and a desire to create spaces that feel both private and personal. We’re delighted to share these treasured homes with guests seeking to experience the Costa Rican lifestyle we’ve come to love. At White Noise, you’ll find nature-immersive healing experiences wrapped in a touch of understated luxury. Our homes blend refined comfort with the sights and sounds of the jungle, inviting you to recharge and discover your own little slice of heaven in Costa Rica.
What started as a small idea — a vision to create something meaningful where nature, comfort, and connection could coexist — has grown into a living, breathing experience shaped by the land, the river, and every guest who joins us along the way.
From our family to you, thank you for choosing to stay with us. As we continue to grow, we remain endlessly grateful for the guests who have believed in this journey — those who’ve shared their stories, supported our vision, and helped White Noise become what it is today: a nature retreat built on sincerity, integrity, and heart.

Welcome to Your Private Riverfront Sanctuary
River Villa was designed for two adults seeking a more refined way to experience the Costa Rican jungle.
Contemporary architecture meets handcrafted stone, expansive glass, warm natural materials, and a collection of intimate outdoor spaces. The Río Damitas runs alongside the property, while two ponds and a freshwater creek contribute to the surrounding water landscape.
Here, the experience is not limited to the interior of the home. The villa’s private spaces unfold throughout the landscape, inviting you to move between swimming, soaking, lounging, dining, and quiet moments surrounded by greenery.
River Villa’s Private Spaces
River Villa was designed as a collection of intimate spaces, each offering a different way to relax, reconnect, and experience the surrounding jungle. From handcrafted soaking tubs to quiet corners beside the river, your private grounds invite you to slow down and enjoy the natural beauty around you.
INDOOR STONE SOAKING TUB
The bathroom features a handcrafted stone-concrete soaking tub positioned beside floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the garden. Surrounded by natural textures and greenery, this sheltered bathing experience brings the outdoors into your private sanctuary.
Host Tip:
Make this part of your evening ritual. Draw a bath, soften the lighting, and enjoy the garden views as the sounds of the rainforest settle in around you. It’s a wonderful way to unwind after a day exploring the coast.
A Few Friendly Reminders:
- Please avoid placing toiletries or other products on surfaces where they could stain or damage the stone.
- Please take care when entering and exiting the tub, as stone surfaces may become slippery when wet.
- Keep water within the designated bathing area and wipe up any splashes to help protect the surrounding floors.
- Drain the tub immediately after use. Please Do Not leave stagnant water.
PONDSIDE SOAKING TUB
Tucked beside one of River Villa’s ponds, your outdoor soaking tub offers a more open-air bathing experience surrounded by tropical vegetation and the quiet movement of the water.
This secluded corner is designed for slowing down, enjoying the fresh air, and taking in the natural details that make River Villa unique.
Host Tip:
Try enjoying this space during the quieter hours of the day. Early mornings are especially lovely for listening to the birds, while late afternoons offer a peaceful transition into the evening.
For Your Comfort & Friendly Reminders:
- Please follow the operating instructions provided for the tub and its water-heating system.
- Take care on wet surfaces around the tub and pond.
- Please keep soaps, oils, and bath products out of the bathtub, pond and surrounding natural water (the water returns to the river).
- Always supervise your belongings and exercise care around the water.
- Do Not overfill or overflow the bathtub. Please be conscious of water usage and drain directly after use.
RIVERFRONT FIRE TUB
One of River Villa’s most distinctive features is its riverfront fire tub, positioned directly beside the Río Damitas. This open-air soaking experience brings you close to the flowing river, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the rainforest.
With hot water available for your soak, the riverfront setting offers a memorable way to unwind as the day transitions into evening.
Host Tip:
Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy this experience without rushing. The sound of the river makes this a particularly special place to slow down, especially in the evening. We recommend planning ahead and allowing time for the tub to be prepared before you want to use it.
For Your Safety & Friendly Reminders:
- Please follow the specific fire-tub operating instructions provided for River Villa.
- Never leave an active fire unattended.
- Keep a safe distance from hot surfaces and the fire-heating area.
- After use, follow the provided instructions for safely extinguishing the fire and draining the tub.
We hope this becomes one of the most memorable experiences of your River Villa stay.
PRIVATE POOL & POOL DECK
Your private swimming pool is the heart of River Villa’s outdoor living space. Cool off in the water, stretch out on the in-water concrete lounge chairs, or settle into the shaded daybed for a quiet afternoon surrounded by tropical greenery.
The pool area connects the villa’s indoor comfort with its outdoor spaces, creating an inviting place to spend a slow morning or unwind after a day of exploring Costa Rica.
Host Tip:
Start your morning with a refreshing swim, then enjoy your coffee outside as the jungle wakes up. If you’re planning a day of exploring, save some time in the afternoon to return to the pool and enjoy the villa at a slower pace.
A Few Friendly Reminders:
- Please take care on wet surfaces around the pool.
- Never dive into the pool, and check the water depth before entering.
- Keep glassware away from the pool edge and water.
RIVERFRONT & GARDEN SEATING AREAS
River Villa’s outdoor spaces are thoughtfully arranged throughout the landscape, offering several intimate places to sit, read, rest, or simply listen to the rainforest and river.
Enjoy the riverfront infinity hammock, the Tulum-style river hammock, or the riverfront daybed. The outdoor dining area provides another place to enjoy a meal surrounded by the natural beauty of the property.
The vegetation and distinct seating areas create a sense of discovery as you move through your private grounds.
Host Tip:
We recommend exploring each of the seating areas at different times of the day. Morning light, afternoon shade, and the sounds of the river after sunset each create a different atmosphere. Bring your coffee to the riverfront hammock and give yourself permission to do absolutely nothing for a while.
A Few Friendly Reminders:
- Please hammock weight limits.
- Remove sharp objects from your pockets before using the hammocks to avoid damaging the fabric.
- Please use the hammocks as intended and avoid standing or jumping on them.
- Keep robes and wet towels off upholstered furniture and daybeds.
- Please return cushions and other movable furnishings to their original locations after use.
RIVERFRONT FIRE PIT & OUTDOOR FIRE FEATURES
River Villa offers several places to enjoy an evening outdoors, including a riverfront fire pit with seating and a poolside fire pit.
Each setting offers a different atmosphere, whether you prefer sitting beside the river, gathering near the pool, or finding a quieter corner surrounded by vegetation.
Host Tip:
Choose your favorite spot before sunset and settle in for the evening. The rainforest sounds become especially noticeable as the day winds down, making these spaces wonderful for a quiet conversation or simply enjoying the natural soundtrack around you.
For Your Safety & Friendly Reminders:
- Please use only designated fire areas and follow the instructions provided for each feature.
- Never leave a fire unattended.
- Keep furnishings, towels, and other combustible materials away from active fires.
- Do not burn household waste, paper towels, cardboard, or other materials not intended for the fire feature.
- Fully extinguish fires after use and before leaving the area.
- Please do not use fire features during unsafe weather conditions.
OUTDOOR KITCHEN & RIVERSIDE HIBACHI-STYLE GRILL
River Villa’s outdoor dining area and hibachi-style riverside barbecue invite you to enjoy meals in the open air, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the jungle and river.
Whether you’re preparing a relaxed lunch or planning an evening meal beside the river, this space offers another way to enjoy your private surroundings without needing to leave the villa.
Host Tip:
Keep meals simple and enjoy the setting. Fresh local ingredients, an easy meal, and a little time beside the river can become some of the most memorable moments of your stay. If you plan to grill, allow time to prepare the fire wood before you begin.
For Your Safety & Friendly Reminders:
- Use only designated cooking tools and equipment.
- Keep indoor kitchen utensils, dishes, and cookware away from direct flames and unsuitable grilling surfaces.
- Never leave an active grill or fire unattended.
- Keep the area clear of combustible materials and ensure the fire is fully extinguished after cooking.
- Please clean the cooking area after use and return the provided tools to their designated locations.

After a swim or a day exploring the rainforest, the outdoor shower offers a refreshing way to rinse off while enjoying the surrounding greenery.
Host Tip:
Use the shower after spending time in the pool or river to rinse away sand, dirt, and natural debris before returning indoors. Take your time and enjoy the fresh air.
A Few Friendly Reminders:
- Please take care on wet surfaces.
- Allow the water time to reach a comfortable temperature before stepping underneath.
- Turn off the water fully after use to conserve this precious resource.

Property Guide
Exploring the Property’s Hiking Trails
Our main hiking trail starts at the very bottom of the main entrance driveway. Follow the road down to the river, cross the bridge, and you’ll find yourself on the main trail.
The hike to the top of the mountain takes about 15 to 20 minutes and rewards you with beautiful views, a trampoline, and a fire pit at the summit. Sometimes, squirrel monkeys can be spotte along the trail around 4pm—keep your eyes peeled for these playful visitors! During the dry season, we also maintain two additional trails for those looking to explore even more. If you’re interested in these extra paths, please ask your host for details and current trail conditions.
Host Tip:
Bring water for your hike—refillable water bottles are provided in the kitchen cabinets. We recommend starting your hike around 4pm, as the sun sets between 5:15pm and 5:45pm year-round. This timing gives you the best chance to spot wildlife and enjoy the sunset from the top.
For Your Safety:
- Do not hike at night without a flashlight.
- Always keep a lookout for wildlife along the trail.

SUNSET FIRE PITS
The top of the mountain is perfect for sunset views, offering 360 degrees of uninterrupted vistas over the jungle and out to the ocean—including Manuel Antonio and Parrita’s beaches. It’s a breathtaking spot to watch the sky change colors as the day ends.
Host Tip:
Begin your hike around 4pm for the best chance to spot wildlife and to catch the sunset from the summit. Squirrel monkeys are often seen along the trail at this time!
Host Pick:
Pack a backpack with some firewood, a lighter, and a starter pack, and enjoy a cozy fire in the fire pit at the top of the mountain as the sun sets.
Safety Reminder:
- Never leave fires unattended, and always ensure they are fully extinguished before leaving—especially at the top of the mountain.
- Please don’t hike at night without a flashlight, and stay alert for wildlife along the trails.

MAIN RIVER ENTRY
The main river entry is found at the bottom of the entrance driveway, offering a refreshing spot for all guests to enjoy. This area is clothing optional, so you can relax and connect with nature in the way that feels best for you.
Host Pick:
Check both sides of the bridge for a sandy spot—the river is always shifting, but there’s usually a sandy entry point that makes getting in and out of the water easy and comfortable.
Reminder:
Please leave the water immediately if it starts raining or if the water speed increases for your safety.
Rule:
If you choose the clothing optional experience, please be discreet and respectful so that all guests feel comfortable sharing this beautiful space.
Enjoy the ever-changing river and the freedom to unwind White Noise.

What to Expect

You are immersed in nature — which means:

We find that guests who embrace this fully have the most meaningful and memorable stays.
Staying Connected (or Not)
While we do offer Wi-Fi, White Noise is an opportunity to disconnect from the fast pace of everyday life and reconnect with yourself, nature, and those around you.

When The Lights Go Out: In Harmony with Nature
As part of our natural, jungle immersed setting, occasional regional power outages may occur. For your comfort, emergency lights are provided in the Butterfly Bungalow, located in the cupboard in front of the barstools, in the case the lights are out after dark.
If an outage is limited to a nearby area, service is typically restored within approximately 15 to 30 minutes. When affecting our immediate or surrounding communities, outages may last for around 3 hours. In the case of more widespread interruptions requiring extensive repairs, restoration times may be longer.
Here, these moments are gently embraced as part of the local rhythm – much like the Pura Vida way of life. We invite you to slow down, unwind, and enjoy the stillness of the space, accompanied by the rich, ambient sounds of the jungle.

Elevate Your Eco Retreat
While White Noise offers a peaceful and private escape from the city, some of Costa Rica’s most iconic destinations are just a short drive away.
Perfectly located between nature and convenience, you’ll have access to adventure, wildlife, beaches, and vibrant local culture — all within reach.
Manuel Antonio National Park
Located just 40 minutes away, Manuel Antonio National Park is one of Costa Rica’s most popular and bio-diverse parks, known for its lush rainforest trails, white-sand beaches, and abundant wildlife.
Guests can explore scenic hiking paths, spot monkeys, sloths, and tropical birds, and enjoy some of the most beautiful coastal views in the country.

Beaches & Ocean Experiences
From calm, swimmable waters to scenic coastal views, the nearby beaches of Manuel Antonio and Quepos offer something for everyone.
Spend your day relaxing on the sand, exploring hidden coves, or enjoying ocean-based activities such as catamaran tours, fishing, or sunset sails.
Manuel Antonio Beaches
ESPADILLA BEACH – Directly adjoining Manuel Antonio National Park’s main beach, this hidden cove offers the same stunning scenery with a lively mix of activities, local vendors, and fresh food right on the sand.
PLAYA BIESANZ – Just north of here you’ll find a beautiful little beach tucked into a calm cove. The waters are gentler than many nearby spots, and although it requires a short hike down, it’s worth the effort. Once you arrive you’ll find lounge chairs available and a few vendor services.
Host tip: This beach is best enjoyed at low tide — during high tide the experience isn’t as pleasant — so we recommend checking the tide report before you go.
PLAYA PLAYITAS – At the very end of Manuel Antonio’s cove lies a hidden local beach that can only be reached with a 4-wheel-drive vehicle. This stretch of sand is completely free of vendors and has a laid-back, local vibe — people simply park right on the beach and head in for a swim.
Insider tip: At the far north end of the beach, when the tide is low, stunning rock formations emerge and create little tide pools that are perfect for strolling around and exploring.
Parrita Beaches
PLAYA PALO SECO – Located in the Parrita canton, this incredible virgin beach is tucked away among Parrita’s natural wonders. Its sand shifts from slightly darker at the edges to lighter in the center, and it’s surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. Most days you’ll find this long, beautiful stretch almost empty — perfect for peaceful beach walks, versus swimming due to its rougher tides.
Host tip: We love stopping at Bar y Restaurante Mar y Sol around 4 p.m. for a casual bite or drink before heading out to stroll the beach at sunset.

Adventure & Nature
For those looking to explore beyond the beach, the surrounding area offers a wide range of outdoor experiences.
From waterfall hikes and jungle trails to immersive nature experiences, the region offers a rich escape for those seeking connection, exploration, and discovery.
Nauyaca Waterfall
About 1.5 hours from here, the stunning Nauyaca Waterfall Nature Park is worth the journey. Nestled in lush rainforest, this private park features well-kept trails, dense canopy, and cascading waterfalls with pristine natural pools—perfect for a refreshing dip.
Key Details & Tips:
- Opening Hours: Park and ticket office operate daily from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, weather permitting.
- Ticket Sales: Available until 2:30 PM—after that, no more entry is allowed.
- Access Options: Choose between a scenic 2.7 km hike or a convenient one-way trolley ride (either round-trip or with a hike down and ride back).
What to Bring:
- Plenty of water and a light snack
- Swimsuit, sturdy shoes, insect repellent, towel, and sunscreen
Host Tip: Arrive early, explore and cool off in the waterfalls before heading to our absolute favorite beach, Playa Perfecto, especially magical during low tide.
Dinner Suggestion: Afterwards, dine oceanside at La Parcela, located on the Cove by Dominical—great views from any seat, and you might even spot the white-faced monkeys visiting in the evening. Reservations are recommended, especially during the dry season.

Rainmaker Conservation Park
Just minutes from our retreat, Rainmaker Conservation Park is a lush rainforest reserve that many visitors miss. With hanging bridges, jungle trails, small waterfalls, and crystal-clear swimming holes, it’s the perfect balance of adventure and serenity. Unlike busy Manuel Antonio, Rainmaker often feels like your own private jungle—you may even find yourself swimming alone beneath a waterfall. The park is known for its conservation roots, abundant wildlife, and peaceful beauty.
Visitor Info: Open daily 7:30 AM–6:00 PM. Entry about $20. Trails are easy to moderate with some stairs and can be slippery in the rainy season. Bring sturdy shoes, water, bug spray, and a swimsuit.
Host Tip: Our favorite way to enjoy Rainmaker is to cool off in the waterfall pools after crossing the canopy bridges—a magical reset in nature.

Our Community – San Antonio de Damas
Our tiny mountain town consists of about 100 people is surrounded by jungle-covered slopes, rivers that whisper through the valley, and views that stretch all the way to the coast.
Life here is simple and deeply rooted in tradition. Families have lived on this land for generations, raising children who play on the soccer field by the church, and sending them to the small school that serves the community. Historically, it was the women of this area who grew food to help feed the nation during a time of need—a legacy of strength and resilience that still lives on today.
Discover the nature a skip away from your door step.

Parking in Downtown Quepos
Please note that Downtown Quepos now has a metered parking system in many areas. If you park in a numbered parking space, payment is required to avoid receiving a parking ticket. The system does not use traditional parking meters or pay stations.
Instead, parking is paid digitally through the Epark mobile app, which is used throughout the downtown metered parking zones. The Municipality of Quepos implemented this system in 2026, and fines may be issued for unpaid parking.
Helpful Tip: Not all parking spaces in Quepos are metered. Many legal street parking areas on public roads remain available and are not marked with numbered spaces. If a space is not part of the metered parking system, payment is generally not required.
As always, please observe all posted parking signs and restrictions, as regulations may vary by location.

Meet Your Animal Friends at White Noise
One of the joys of staying at White Noise is sharing the sanctuary with some of our beloved four-legged residents. While they aren’t permitted inside the homes, you’ll likely meet them during your stay.
Bigotes (“Buddy”)
Our unofficial welcome committee and a guest favorite. Bigotes (pronounced Bee-Goat-A’s) loves meeting new people and may greet you with a soft bark to say hello. He enjoys attention, gentle pets, and making new friends. If you’re willing to offer a few scratches behind the ears, you’ll likely have a loyal companion for part of your visit.

Robbie (“Potato”)
Sweet, gentle, and full of love. Robbie can be a little shy when meeting new people and may take some time to warm up. Once she feels comfortable, she’s incredibly affectionate and enjoys calm attention and soft pets.

McGreggor (“Little Devil”)
The name says it all. McGreggor (named after Conner McGreggor) is equal parts charming, mischievous, and photogenic. He’s an accomplished hunter and can often be spotted stalking lizards, frogs, and other jungle critters. While undeniably handsome, he is also known for his dramatic side and may serenade you with endless complaints and cries if he thinks he’s missing out on something.
As adorable as he may be, please do not allow McGreggor inside the house. Once invited in, he tends to believe he owns the place and wreak havoc.

A Friendly Reminder About Visiting Animals
While our resident animals love meeting guests, they are not permitted inside the homes.
Cats have sharp claws, dogs bring muddy paws, and even the most well-behaved animal can accidentally damage furnishings, linens, screens, or décor. To help us keep the homes in excellent condition for all guests, please do not invite or allow any animals inside the accommodations.
Guests may be held responsible for damage caused by animals brought into the home, including cleaning, repair, or replacement costs when necessary.
Thank you for helping us protect both our homes and our furry residents.

How to Reach Us
Your Hosts, Close By
Your hosts live quietly on the property and are available should you need assistance, local recommendations, or support during your stay.
While we always respect your privacy, being nearby allows us to ensure the sanctuary remains safe, beautifully maintained, and that any needs can be addressed quickly.

To preserve the peaceful atmosphere for all guests, we kindly ask that visits be reserved for spa reservations or genuine emergencies.
When The Lights Go Out: In Harmony with Nature
Occasional regional power outages are a normal part of life in Costa Rica and are beyond our control.
Please remember to turn off all lights, air conditioning, and fans whenever you leave the property.
Not only does this help conserve energy, but outdoor lighting can attract insects in our tropical environment. Keeping lights off while you’re away helps maintain a more comfortable space when you return.
That ties directly into your power section without feeling like another rule.
Private Feedback
If there is anything we can improve during your stay, we’d genuinely love to hear from you while you’re here.
Private feedback gives us the opportunity to address concerns immediately and continue improving the experience for future guests.
A Heartfelt Thank You
Your stay is more than a getaway—it is a choice to experience a slower, more intentional way of traveling.
At White Noise, we have created a space that is deeply connected to its surroundings, guided by a philosophy of simplicity, privacy, and natural beauty. By choosing to stay with us, you are supporting a small, independently operated retreat that values quality over quantity and connection over scale.
Your visit directly supports our local team, many of whom have been part of this space for years, as well as the surrounding community through our continued efforts to give back, collaborate, and contribute in meaningful ways.
It is because of guests like you that we are able to maintain this space, preserve its natural rhythm, and continue offering a more mindful approach to travel.
We are sincerely grateful to share this experience with you.
We hope the memories you create here stay with you long after your journey home. Until next time… Pura Vida.
